    The City's historic preservation program promotes the identification, evaluation, rehabilitation, adaptive use, and restoration of historic structures. The links below will guide you to a wide variety of detailed information about the City designated and surveyed historic properties and districts, the process and criteria related to the designation of historic sites and districts and the process for obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness for new construction, alterations, additions, re-locations, or demolitions within a historic site or district. This map link shows all of the designated historic destricts within the city.

    Historic Pasadena Smart Phone App 

    The City of Pasadena has developed a free smart phone app to help people find historic properties in the City.  Using the app, you can search for any historic resources in your vicinity, search for specific types of historic resources, or follow a walking or driving tour.  A website listing all of the available tours, as well as a printed brochure with shortened versions of the tours will be released soon, but the app can be downloaded now from the iTunes store  for Apple devices or Google Play  for Android devices. 

    Historic Resources Database (CHRID)   Find detailed information and photographs of properties that have been designated as historic resources or included in a recent historic resources survey as well as historic context reports and National Register nominations with this tutorial and link.
    Map My Neighborhood  Use this interactive map to locate and obtain information about designated historic resources.  Click the box next to "Historic Properties" to turn on this map layer.
