UCLA-USC 2016 Game at Rose Bowl Stadium: Tips, Reminders

PASADENA, Calif.–The Rose Bowl Stadium, www.rosebowlstadium.com, home to UCLA Football, will host the team’s annual rivalry football game against USC on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 with an official kick-off time of 7:30 p.m., PST.

The Pasadena Police Department, UCLA and the Rose Bowl Stadium urge fans to plan their trips in advance.  Arrive early and consider either carpooling, taking shuttle buses or utilizing other means of shared transportation to alleviate travel time, traffic and other delays to entering the Arroyo Seco.

The Rose Bowl Stadium is a “Clear Bag Venue” and all bags entering the stadium will need to comply with the policy.  To ensure being in their seats for kickoff, patrons should allow for extra time to pass through security screening and are encouraged to visit the Rose Bowl Stadium website, www.rosebowlstadium.com for a complete list of stadium rules, tailgating policies, parking information and prohibited items.

On game day, follow the Rose Bowl Stadium’s social media sites, Facebook & Twitter for updated information: Rose Bowl Stadium

All General Parking lots open at 1:30 p.m., PST, six (6) hours prior to kick off, including RV and parking for disabled patrons.  ADA-handicapped parking is available at various locations at the Rose Bowl Stadium.

There is no space to wait on public streets adjacent to the Rose Bowl prior to the lots opening.

To save time on event day, patrons can pre-purchase parking passes online here:

All overnight parking is prohibited, including overnight RV parking.  All parking is first-come, first-served.  All parking lots close 90 minutes after the game’s conclusion.

Free shuttle buses, as a convenience are offered. It is strongly recommended that fans take advantage of originating from Old Pasadena at the Parsons Engineering parking lot, at Union Street and Delacey Street.

Shuttle buses begin running to the Rose Bowl Stadium beginning four (4) hours prior to kick off and continuing 90 minutes after the end of the game.  Parking is available at Parsons Engineering, or in any nearby parking lot in Old Pasadena.  Parking fees average $15 per car, or more.

Public transportation is a great alternative for getting to the game.  Take the Metro Gold Line light rail to the Memorial Park Station in Pasadena, conveniently located two blocks from the free shuttle to the Rose Bowl Stadium.

Carpooling is crucial.

The small difference between four people versus three people riding in a car results in 8,000 fewer vehicles on the road, greatly streamlining traffic and parking.

If you do plan to drive, do not use your GPS device for navigation to the stadium.  Temporary road closures and barricades will be in effect that may not show up on smart phone GPS-enable devices.  Follow directions via local signage, electronic message boards and traffic safety officers.

Tailgating is an enjoyable part of the game day fan experience.  UCLA and the Rose Bowl Stadium are committed to creating a fan-friendly environment that is safe for all to enjoy.  We ask that all patrons observe established guidelines and rules, drinking games and mass consumption are not permitted throughout the event.

More details can be found online at www.rosebowlstadium.com.  Alcohol consumption is not permitted in the parking lots after kick-off.  Any persons remaining in the parking lots consuming alcohol after the game starts may be cited.

The Rose Bowl Stadium and UCLA Athletics are committed to serving their fans by providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience in and around the stadium on game day.

All patrons must adhere to the Southern California Fan Code of Conduct to ensure that their experiences are consistent with our commitment.  Full details on conduct and prohibited items are available on the stadium’s website.

In conjunction with this effort, you will notice that during game day the lower Arroyo parking lots and Rose Bowl Stadium will have a heightened security presence including assistance from federal, state, and local agencies.
