MISSION STATEMENT
The City Hall Restoration Oversight Committee was an ad hoc advisory
committee appointed by the City Council to review the seismic retrofit,
rehabilitation and restoration of the Pasadena City Hall and to make
recommendations to the City Council regarding the progress of the project.
The committee, whose members served without compensation, met on an
as-needed basis, typically once a month. Because of the city’s concerns
about the architectural and engineering features of the restoration and
the historical preservation of this landmark building, the committee
reveiwed any major changes in scope, as well as updated cost
estimates and any significant changes in the budget. Since the meetings of
the committee were public, the committee also served as a hearing body for
citizens’ concerns about historic preservation and other technical
features of the project.
