E Occupancies

Group Division Description
E  

Occupancies are buildings used for educational purposes the 12th grade by 50 or more persons for more than 12 hours per week or four hours in any one day.

E 2

Occupancies are buildings used for educational purposes through the 12th grade by less than 50 persons for more than 12 hours per week or four hours in any one day.

E 3

Occupancies are any non-residential building used for day care purposes for more than 6 persons. Any residential building used for day care purposes for more than 12 persons. 

 

H Occupancies

Group Division Description
H 1

Occupancies are buildings or structures that involve manufacturing processing, generation or storage of materials in excess of those listed in CBC Table 3-D which present a high explosion hazard.

H 2

Occupancies are Buildings or structures where combustible dust is manufactured, used or generated in such concentrations that create a fire or explosion potential; occupancies with a quantity of material in excess of those listed in the CBC Table 3-D which represent a moderate explosion hazard or a hazard from accelerated burning.

H 3

Occupancies are buildings or structures where flammable solids, other than combustible dust, are manufactured, used or generated; buildings in which the quantity of material is in excess of those listed in CBC Table 3-D which  present a high physical hazard.

H 4 occupancies are (vehicle) repair garages not classified as Group S, Division 3 occupancies.
H 5

occupancies are aircraft repair hangers not classified as Group S, Division 5 occupancies or heliports.

H 6

occupancies are semiconductor fabrication facilities and comparable research and development areas in which hazardous production materials are used where the aggregate quantity of materials is in excess of those listed in Table 8001.13-A or 8001.13-B.

H 7

occupancies are occupancies having quantities of materials in excess of those listed in Table 8001. 15-B that are health hazards, including corrosives, toxic and highly toxic material, irritants and sensitizers.

H 8

occupancies are laboratories and similar areas for scientific experimentation or research, but not classified as an H-1, H-2, H-3, H-6, H-7 or B occupancy.
