What is the E.M.S.R.?

The E.M.S.R. is a unique volunteer unit of the Pasadena Fire Department. This non paid organization was founded in November 1981 and is the only unit of its kind in the United States.

The E.M.S.R. unit of the Pasadena Fire Department is designed to provide non fire related, emergency medical services to the City of Pasadena during normal, everyday operations and in the event of disaster. Emergency medical services are also provided by the unit at largely populated Rose Bowl events such as U.C.L.A. football, and concerts.
