PASADENA EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING

Southern California has experienced some of the most significant disasters in the history of our country during the past few years. The Northridge Earthquake, the 1993 Firestorms, and the 1995 Floods have each had a severe impact on emergency response capabilities. We must be prepared to deal with emergency situations and to provide for ourselves until professional assistance is available.

EMERGENCY 9-1-1

The goal of the Pasadena Fire Department is to respond to emergencies within 5 minutes. P.E.R.T. is a neighborhood program designed to prepare you to respond if we can't.

We recognize the high level of commitment each person will be making to complete this program. We acknowledge your contribution and success with a Certificate of Completion and an official P.E.R.T. safety hat.

GETTING STARTED

This training covers basic skills that are important to know in a disaster when emergency services are not immediately available. You will want to help. With training and practice and by working as a team, you will be able to do the greatest good for the greatest number after a disaster, while protecting yourself from becoming a victim. This training is especially suited for neighborhood groups, community organizations or like minded individuals. A minimum group size of 20 participants is required to schedule Module 1, a participant roster will be required in advance. However, we also provide Module l for individuals on a monthly basis. After completing Module 1 additional modules can then be scheduled by individual participants or as a group.
