After School Tutoring – Free.
Tutoring is available to students in grades 2nd through 6th.  Subjects include English, math, spelling, reading and social studies; ongoing classes throughout the school year.  Tutoring begins September 20, 2004.

 G.E.D. – $10 Registration Fee  (Maximum Session 15 weeks)

This program assists individuals to prepare for the GED tests.  This course will increase the students’ proficiency in essay   writing, social science, reading and math.  Fall session begins September 14, 2004 through December 14, 2004.  Winter session begins January 6, 2005.

S.A.T. Tutoring Program - $25.00 Registration Fee

(Students pay a one-time only registration fee). 
The objective of this program is to help high school students prepare to take the new SAT, verbal and math reasoning test. 
Short-term focus:  Improve testing skills and scores for juniors and seniors planning to take the exam in the Fall 2004 and Winter 2005.  Long-term focus:  College bound students will benefit from the tutoring sessions and evaluation.

MATH AND SCIENCE TUTORING – Free

Students from local middle and high schools receive one-on-one tutoring in math and science.  The sessions are on-going throughout the school year.  The goal is to improve students’ grades in math and science.  Tutoring begins September 21, 2004.

ARMORY CENTER WALK TO ARTS PROGRAM – Free

This is a free after-school program for ages 7-11 years old.  Students will work with clay, draw, paint and make collages, instructed by specially trained artists.

 Tuesdays. Oct.  5- Dec.21, 2004     3:30-5:00 pm
(No Winter Program)


YOUTH COMPUTER CLASS– Free

Elementary and middle school students will learn Microsoft Word and the basics of using the Internet.  Students will be able to research on the Internet and prepare reports and   assignments using Microsoft Word.
