Pasadena's successful One City, One Story began in 2002 with the selection
of Mark Salzman's The Soloist and was followed in 2003 with Leif Enger's
Peace Like a River; in 2005 with Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner;
in 2006 with Octavia Butler's Kindred, and in 2007 with Bo
Caldwell's The Distant Land of My Father. Once again the program drew strong community
participation.
