In addition, you will need to alert the resource center staff by calling or e-mailing when you return your items to one of the designated locations. A Unique Partnership Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center is one of 21 regional centers in the State of California coordinating and providing services to people with developmental disabilities from birth – old age. Our mission is to enable people with developmental disabilities to live full, productive and satisfying lives as active members of their communities. (For more information on regional center services, call 213.383.1300 or visit www.lanterman.org.) As a part of our effort to provide disability-related information, education and support resources to our clients with developmental disabilities, their families, and community members throughout the Central Los Angeles, Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena areas, Lanterman’s Koch-Young Resource Center houses a multi-media library collection of approximately 6,000 items. These items are searchable on-line at library.lanterman.org. Pasadena Public Library offers a myriad of services and resources. Our emphasis is on the promotion of information literacy in our multi-cultural community, making global information accessible at the neighborhood level and collaborating with schools and other local organizations to provide the best service possible. In 2003, Pasadena Public Library received a small grant to make our library services more accessible to individuals with disabilities. We chose Lanterman Regional Center as our community partner, and gathered community feedback to prioritize our effort to improve services. As a part of this effort, we have created a lending relationship with the Koch-Young Resource Center Library, allowing Pasadena Public Library patrons access to the highly-specialized materials available at the resource center. (For more information on disability-related services available through the library, please visit www.pasadenapubliclibrary.net) Lending Relationship Lanterman Regional Center and the Pasadena Public Library have arranged the following time slots and locations for Pasadena residents who would like to drop off or pick up materials from the Koch-Young Resource Center.
