Many exercises help adults improve their spelling, vocabulary, and grammar. There is also a section on idioms and word histories if you want to find out how words and sayings got their meanings.

http://ldaca.org This website for the Learning Disabilities Association of California is a volunteer organization made up of adults with disabilities, professionals, and parents. Its goal is to support the education and welfare of people with normal intelligence who have a learning disability.

www.dyslexia-ca.org The Inland Empire branch of the International Dyslexia Association has good information specific to Southern California, including referrals to IDA professional members who provide services to those with dyslexia and their families. This site is updated regularly.

www.ncld.org/ The National Center for Learning Disabilities has information for dyslexics of all ages and their families. There is also an Advocacy Center with a detailed guide for people who want to advocate for those with learning disabilities. An RSS feed as well as Podcasts are also available from this website.
 

Southern California Library Literacy Network helps tutors, students and literacy programs.

www.gcflearnfree.org If you want to get practical life skills for today, this is an excellent website. You can learn money and math skills, job seeking skills such as creating a resume, cover letter, and job interviewing advice, and you can learn Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. There is also an option to do the lessons in Spanish. You can learn at your own pace for free.
