PROJECT TITLE: Valley Hunt Club Master Development Plan

PROJECT ADDRESS: The project site consists of the Valley Hunt Club’s five contiguous parcels located at 520 South Orange Grove Boulevard and an additional contiguous parcel located at 328 Palmetto Drive, in the southwest portion of the City.  The L-shaped project site is located in the southeast quadrant of the Orange Grove Boulevard/Palmetto Drive intersection and comprises a total of 4.21 acres.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed project is a Master Development Plan with accompanying General Plan Amendment and Zoning Map Amendment for the Valley Hunt Club, a private social club.  Approval of the proposed application would allow the Valley Hunt Club to undertake the following improvements, which the Club intends to implement over the next 5-10 years:

 

  • Expand the existing employee parking lot to include the property at 328 Palmetto Drive, increasing the number of employee parking spaces from 10 to 44;
  • Remove the residence at 328 Palmetto Drive; Build a new 2-story, 2,880 square foot (ft2) Multi-Purpose Room/Storage Building;
  • Erect temporary tents and awnings at existing dining and gathering areas on an as-needed and seasonal basis; Expand the exiting Fitness Center with a 1,125 ft2 addition;
  • Improve the existing Tennis Pavilion, including installing a new elevator; and
  • Install guard booths at various locations. The proposed improvement will increase the number of onsite parking spaces from 116 stalls to 143, a net gain of 27 additional spaces.

 

The proposed application also includes a Zoning Map Amendment and a General Plan Amendment to convert the residential parcel (at 328 Palmetto Drive) from an RS-4 zoning designation and a Low Density Residential General Plan designation to a PS zoning designation and an Institutional General Plan designation.
