Goals
Locate

Photographs, and Chalk Lines.
History

Prior
to 1988, all crime scene evidence duties were performed by Agents (now
called Corporals).
-
1988,
the first Police Assistants (now called CSO’s) were trained in crime
scene processing. Agents/Investigators continued same duties.
-
1990,
Police Assistant’s were given total evidence duties including all but
the most major scenes.

1992,
the Forensic Services Unit is formed for crime scene processing on all
major cases (no exceptions). Routine scenes still handled by P.A.’s.

1993,
the Forensic Services Unit is expanded to 8 and ALL physical evidence at
ALL crime scenes becomes the total responsibility of the Unit.

1993
– Present, the Unit engages in ongoing training and crime scene work
accumulating around 75 years of collective crime scene experience.
