PASADENA
POLICE CLASSIC CAR SHOW

                                       Classification Addendum

The classifications were listed on the application and they are pretty straightforward.  In the past, some entrants said it wasn't clear enough.  Open class means that the class is for convertibles. Closed class means that the class is for hardtops or sedans. All classes are stock unless stated otherwise.

Stock modified means the car has been modified from stock. It does not mean a hot rod. Stock modified may include a blower, lowered suspension, non-stock wheels, non-stock paint color, etc. Some minor modification, such as non-stock wheels, may still qualify for stock. Basically, the rule is if it looks stock, it is stock. If it doesn't look stock, then it isn't stock.

Hot Rod means it is “hot-rodded.” This may include substantial engine modifications, modifications to the body such as chopping or channeling, custom paint, suspension modifications, non-stock interiors, etc. You know if your car is a hot rod or not.

Original condition means it is in original condition - that is NOT the same as restored to original condition. Original means it has the original paint, chrome, drive train, and interior. If you have repainted the car, re-chromed the bumpers and/or re-upholstered the interior, it is no longer in original condition. The car will have to be entered in the appropriate class.

Light commercial means it is a pickup truck or other vehicle for commercial use, such as an ambulance, hearse, or police car. All trucks will be in the light commercial class.

Best of Show is awarded to THE vehicle in all classes with the largest number of votes. Anyone can win this category by one vote. Best of Show cannot also win first in class.

People's Choice is awarded to the car with the most "SPECTATOR" VOTES. Spectator is not the same as a participant. You are a participant; so don't vote for People's Choice. Leave that up to the visitors who come to the show. People's choice can also win Best of Show or First in Class, but not both.  PLEASE, NO BALLOT STUFFING!

If you arrive late, do not expect to be parked within your class. You must be on time to be with your group. If you are parked out of class, it is a certainty that you will not get all the votes you may be entitled to. MAKE CERTAIN that as you are parked you are being placed in the correct class. If you are not, immediately notify an official or correct the error. If you wait too long, it will be too late.
