WOMEN’S COMMISSIONER RECEIVES
VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD
Cheryl Hubbard of the Pasadena
Commission on the Status of Women will receive the Council of Women’s
Clubs Volunteer Service Award for her lengthy work on issues related to
homelessness.
Hubbard has provided untiring support of organizations committed to the
issues of homeless women, women in the workplace, children and other
causes. She is known in the community for rolling up her sleeves in an
effort to end homelessness and provide shelter, food and security for
those in difficult situations.
Hubbard will be honored by the Council of Women’s Club at their monthly
meeting Thursday, Jan. 11. Founded in 1938, the organization has been
presenting the award more than 50 years.
The Commission on the Status of Women advises Pasadena City Council on
the special needs of women of all ages, races, religions, ethnic and
cultural backgrounds, and economic and social circumstances.
