In 1991 recognizing the growing need for

HIV services in the San Gabriel Valley

the Pasadena Public Health Department in partnership with a collaboration of community agencies embarked on a new venture

and began providing HIV/AIDS medical

outpatient services to HIV-infected individuals. 

In honor of Andrew Escajeda

a City of Pasadena employee

who was dedicated to the HIV/AIDS cause

The Andrew Escajeda Clinic

(AEC) was named in 1992.

A recipient of the Ryan White CARE Act funds provided by Los Angeles County Office of AIDS Programs and Policies AEC is committed to providing comprehensive compassionate and competent HIV medical mental health and education services free of charge to uninsured and Medi-Cal insured HIV positive individuals residing in Los Angeles County.
