Medical Services

u Comprehensive medical evaluations, including physical and laboratory examinations.

u A full range of the most current HIV medical treatments and medications.

u Individualized treatment plans developed in partnership with the client.

u Laboratory testing including ongoing monitoring of CD4 and viral load levels, and specialized examinations to identify HIV medication resistance.

u Radiological testing provided on-site and by Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (CHAP) located adjacent to AEC.

u Referrals to specialty medical services.

u Preventive treatments, vaccinations and education to maintain optimum health.

 

Mental Health Services

u Comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment.

u Crisis intervention services provided to clients and their significant others by a Mental Health Clinician.

u Referrals for long-term mental health counseling, support groups, and substance abuse programs.

 

Nutritional Counseling

u A Registered Dietician assists clients in meeting the nutritional challenges associated with HIV/AIDS.  Services include dietary counseling, body composition analysis (BIA testing) and nutritional supplements to those who qualify.

 

Women's Health Services

u Specialized services that addresses the unique health care needs of women living with HIV/AIDS.

u Routine gynecological examinations and treatment.

u Specialty referrals, health education and medical counseling.

 

Psychosocial Services

u In partnership with AIDS Service Center of Pasadena, an on-site Case Manager assists clients with obtaining social services such as benefits counseling, housing assistance, food bank referrals and legal guidance, enhancing health status while fostering independence.

u Transportation assistance available to clients who qualify.

 

ADAP Enrollment Site

u The Andrew Escajeda Clinic specializes in the enrollment process of the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).  ADAP provides an extensive list of HIV/AIDS medications free of charge or at a low cost to HIV-positive individuals who meet qualifications.

u ADAP enrollment is available to all qualified individuals, even if not receiving medical services from AEC.

 

Partner Testing

u Set your partner's mind at ease, have them partner test regularly.  Take control and responsibility of your health and theirs.  Confidential, free HIV testing offered for partners and family members of AEC clients.
