Health Promotion & Policy

The Health Promotion and Policy Development Division supports the Public Health Department Guiding Principles by endeavoring to improve and protect the health and well being of the Pasadena community and the surrounding areas through the:

  • Promotion of healthy behaviors

  • Development of policies to promote health

  • Mobilization of communities for action

  • Monitoring of population health status

Building on core public health values, the Health Promotion and Policy Development efforts emphasize that overall health is more than the absence of disease. We recognize that social/cultural, economic and environmental conditions impact community health and quality of life, just as our individual behaviors and choices do.
