How can I get involved with MAP?
In fall 2004 the Pasadena Public Health Department launched the MAP Campaign a community-wide effort to improve the health of the Pasadena community. Using a national framework MAP has involved individuals organizations and groups across the City in identifying and addressing important community health concerns.
The MAP Campaign will result in a community-wide plan that will guide and direct efforts across the City of Pasadena to improve health over the next three to five years. By looking at the City’s current health status and its capacity to meet the needs of the entire population community strategies and actions will be implemented to improve community health.
MAP is an action oriented process for charting a course - or a roadmap - to a healthier community. The letters M-A-P do not have specific meaning.
Many individuals across the community have become important contributors and champions of the MAP process. Residents government officials health and human service organizations businesses non-profit organizations faith-based organizations youth and healthcare agencies have all made important contributions to the effort.
