The MAP Campaign is a community-wide effort focused on improving quality of life within Pasadena.  Modeled after a national framework, MAP has involved faith institutions, non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, schools, youth, businesses and government officials in identifying and addressing important community health concerns

The vision of MAP is that the greater Pasadena area is a healthy, thriving community that values and promotes overall wellness.  With this vision, the MAP Campaign aims to create opportunities to strengthen wellness across our community.  The name of the Pasadena MAP Campaign symbolizes a map of our shared course towards Pasadena’s healthy future.

Since 2004, we have partnered with over 100 groups across the community, speaking with over 4,500 individuals through community health assessments and a comprehensive action planning process.  In these conversations, we asked people what a “healthy community” means, and we talked about ways to get there together.  The MAP Campaign’s guiding body, the MAP Steering Committee, met regularly to monitor our progress and drive the Campaign forward.  11 health priorities emerged, and the Steering Committee, with input from the community, decided to form four workgroups to address community health issues.  The Committee instructed the workgroups to develop 3-5 year strategic plans starting with a feasible one year action plan with goals, measurable objectives, strategies and activities that would create positive change.

This is the main thrust of the MAP Community Health Action Plan.  The combined workgroup plans give concrete direction, spelling out how to create specific positive changes in our community’s health and quality of life over a one year timeframe.  We are now 6 months into implementation, and we invite you to read our plan and get involved!  Please call us at (626) 744-6149 if you would like to join us in charting a new course to our healthy future!
