To ease traffic congestion in Pasadena caused by the gap in State Route 710, the City of Pasadena has developed the SR 710 Mitigation Project, which includes eight transportation improvement projects that are scheduled to be constructed between Fall 2004 and Fall 2008.

The objectives of this comprehensive program are to move traffic away from neighborhoods and onto commercial traffic corridors, to improve mobility within these corridors, and to coordinate efforts to improve traffic flow in areas with new development.
