Department of Public Works

  • Sidewalks

Per Section 12.04 of the Pasadena Municipal Code, the property owner is responsible for permanent repairs of any damaged sidewalk along the property frontage, including damage caused by street trees. The City has launched a sidewalk repair reimbursement program, to assist residents in making sidewalks safe and accessible to everyone.

Interested residents may apply, and if approved, may hire a Department of Industrial Relations (DIR)-registered contractor to perform sidewalk repairs under a Public Works permit. After repairs are approved by a City inspector, the resident will apply for a reimbursement of 50% of the costs, up to $8/sf, for a maximum reimbursement of $1,000 per property frontage.

Residents may still submit requests for asphalt maintenance patches by contacting the Citizen Service Center through the City's app, calling 626-744-7311, or visiting http://ww5.cityofpasadena.net/citizen-service-center/

Additional information and documents will be located in this link shortly. If you have questions in the meantime, please contact sidewalks@cityofpasadena.net
