PASADENA, Calif.—On Saturday, September 14, at about 11:22 p.m., Pasadena police responded to the area of Arroyo Boulevard and Seco Street regarding a physical altercation and shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and located the two victims. Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported both victims to a local hospital, one in stable condition and the other in grave condition.
Despite the life-saving efforts of medical staff, the second victim succumbed to his injury. The victim has been identified as Kamryn Stone, an 18-year-old black male and Los Angeles resident.
The other victim is a 51-year-old white male and Los Angeles resident. He is recovering from a gunshot wound and is in stable condition.
Pasadena police detectives have taken the lead in furthering the investigation. The motive for the altercation that led to the shooting remains under investigation. Initially it appears this incident may not be random in nature. The investigation is ongoing with no further details being released at this time.
