City of Pasadena Thanksgiving Closures and Reminders

PASADENA, Calif.—Pasadena residents and businesses are reminded that City Hall and most City services will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Specific closures, exceptions and reminders are noted below.

Pasadena Fire and Police Departments will continue to be staffed for all patrol, jail, fire, paramedic and other emergency services. Always call 9-1-1 for life-threatening emergencies. For non-emergencies, call (626) 744-4241. If you "See Something, Say Something." Report suspicious activity to Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241.

Pasadena residents and businesses with any power emergencies should call Pasadena’s Water and Power (PWP) Department at (626) 744-4673. For water-related emergencies, call (626) 744-4138. PWP’s Customer Service Call Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, but customers can access their accounts and make payments through the automated phone system at (626) 744-4005 or online at www.PWPweb.com.

The City's City Service Center (CSC) will be closed Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) and will reopen on Friday, from 8 a.m.-noon. You can contact the CSC via the web or by calling (626) 744-7311. Regular trash and recycling collection for Thursday will occur on Friday, and Friday’s collection will occur on Saturday, Nov. 28.

Pasadena Transit and Dial-A-Ride transportation programs will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, but will resume regular service on Friday, Nov. 27. All parking meters are free and parking time limits will not be enforced on Thanksgiving Day, but shoppers are advised that all regular meter enforcement will resume on Friday. Violations for overnight parking restrictions, red curb parking and blocking fire hydrants will continue to be issued both days.

All Pasadena Public Library sites will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and will remain closed Thursday and Friday. The City’s Permit Center and Payment Center will also be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27.

All parks are open for picnics, fun and play; however, no site reservations are being accepted for the holiday. Because LA County remains in the most restrictive purple tier of California's four-tier COVID-19 reopening plan, only outdoor gatherings are allowed. Outdoor gatherings must be limited to three or fewer households, with everyone wearing a face covering and maintaining at least six feet of physical distance between those who do not live in the same household. To further reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, the duration of outdoor gatherings should not exceed two hours. View the Health Officer Order for more information.

People who look and feel fine can unknowingly spread COVID-19 to others. The fewer people we have in-person contact with, the lower our chances of getting the virus. Although distancing ourselves from friends and family is difficult, especially during the holidays, the best way to protect ourselves and others from COVID-19 is to celebrate at home with the people we live with. Let’s all do our part to stop the spread and have the safest Thanksgiving possible. View additional holiday guidance and restrictions.
