PASADENA, Calif.—Pasadena Public Library kicks off their 6th annual free teen book festival, Pasadena Loves YA, on Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon to 4 p.m. at Central Library, 285 E. Walnut St. Doors open at 11 a.m. The first 200 attendees will receive a free tote bag. No registration required.
The four themed author panels are:
- Out of the Ashes, moderated by Nicole Mainardi, A Curse of Thorns;
- Against All Odds, moderated by Catherine Linka, What I Want You To See;
- Rebels and Rebirth, moderated by Jennifer Brody, The Continuum Trilogy; and
- Expectation vs. Reality, moderated by Gretchen McNeil, #murdertrending.
Young adult authors will participate in a series of panels, answer audience questions and sign books. Authors include Julie Berry, Lovely War; Demetra Brodsky, Dive Smack; Dana L Davis, The Voice in My Head; Clare Di Liscia, Neliem; Alexa Donne, Brightly Burning; Maurene Goo, Somewhere Only We Know; Mary McCoy, I, Claudia; Maura Milan, Eclipse the Skies; Derek Milman, Swipe Right for Murder; Lauren Morrill, Better Than the Best Plan; Abdi Nazemian, Like a Love Story; Christine Riccio, Again, but Better; Caitlin Seal, Twice Dead; Andrew Smith, Rabbit & Robot; and Amy Spalding, The Summer of Jordi Perez (And the Best Burger in Los Angeles).
Following the last panel, there will be a free giveaway of 300+ new or upcoming YA books.
