Composition
13 members, one nominated by each of the 7 Council members and the Mayor. The Mayor shall nominate one member from persons recommended by any of the other 7 Council members. The Pasadena Senior Center shall nominate one member, and the Huntington Hospital Senior Care Network shall nominate one member. Human service agencies providing services in Pasadena shall recommend two representatives for nomination.
Description
The purpose of the Senior Commission is to advise the City Council on the needs, concerns and quality of life for seniors.
The commission shall:
- Advise the City Council on the needs and concerns of all seniors;
- Engage in consultation and study with local groups on the needs of the aged and evaluate available resources; and
- Consult with other public agencies and commissions on matters relevant to the commission.
Term of Office
Three years, limited to two consecutive terms. A term of less than one year is not considered a full term.
