District 1 otherwise known as “The First District”, is a fine testament to what Pasadena represents—diversity, culture, and edification. East of the arroyo, this segment of Pasadena is home to a plethora of landmarks, architectural wonders, and public institutions. This includes the Rose Bowl, the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center, the Rose Bowl Tennis Center, Brookside Golf Course, Norton Simon Museum, La Pintoresca Park, Library and Teen Center. Our schools include John Muir High, Washington STEAM Magnet Academy, Washington Accelerated Elementary, Cleveland Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Chandler School (independent), and Pasadena Christian School (private). Other cultural landmarks include The Gamble House, Pasadena Museum of History, Kidspace Museum, Reese’s Retreat Park, Hahamongna Watershed Park and Alkebulan Cultural Center.

District 1 is bounded by Oak Grove, the Arroyo Seco Channel, Colorado, the 210 Freeway, Washington, Los Robles, Ladera, Howard, Lake, Woodbury and Yucca.
