VICTIM SUCCUMBS TO SHOOTING INJURY
VICTIM: ANTHONY MICHEAL TAFOYA ORTIZ, MALE, 24 YEARS OLD
LOS ANGELES RESIDENT

Pasadena, CA – On Friday, August 9, 2019, at about 10:49 a.m., Pasadena Police
responded to the 100 block of Painter street regarding a shooting victim. Officers arrived
on scene and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Pasadena Fire
Department paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital in grave
condition.

Despite the life-saving efforts of medical staff, victim Ortiz succumbed to his injury on
Sunday morning at 10:36AM, August 11, 2019.

Detectives responded to the scene on Friday August 9, 2019 and continue to further the
investigation following up on leads.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Preliminary investigation
revealed the shooting was not random in nature. The investigation is on-going and no
further details are being released at this time.
