Cinco de Mayo at the Rose Bowl Youth Art Contest

The Rose Bowl Stadium invites you to join our Cinco de Mayo Art Competition. In celebration of our Centennial celebration, we are inviting all students in Pasadena to show us their Cinco de Mayo artwork. Selected artwork will be on display at our Cinco de Mayo Event on Sunday, May 1st. Winners, in three age categories, will receive cash prizes.

How to Enter: You must be between the ages of 4-18. Artwork can be drawings or paintings on a piece of paper that celebrate what Cinco de Mayo means to you.

Ideas: Use your imagination of the meaning of Cinco de Mayo. Does it mean colorful flowers, Mariachi music, the battle of Puebla, or an eagle in flight. Present your masterpiece on paper by painting, drawing, sketching.

Cinco de Mayo celebrates a battle fought at Puebla, Mexico, between the army of Mexico and the French forces sent by Napoleon III, which ended in a Mexican victory. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration though music, dance, food, and festivals with a richness in cultural pride.
