City Of Pasadena and Pasadena Center Operating Company Unveil a Memorial Plaque Honoring the Late Eddie Van Halen

WHO: Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo & City Councilmembers will unveil a newly installed plaque honoring the late Eddie Van Halen and his connection to Pasadena.

WHAT: Following the passing of Eddie Van Halen on October 6, 2020, the City received requests and suggestions from the community to do or name something in Mr. Van Halen’s honor to recognize both his local connection to Pasadena, as well as the impact that his artistry had on music. Given the band’s connection to Pasadena, the Executive Committee of the Pasadena Center Operating Company endorsed the City’s effort to put a plaque outside the Civic Auditorium, a location where the band played several of its earliest performances.

WHEN: MONDAY, Oct. 11, 2021 – 10 a.m.

WHERE: Pasadena Civic Auditorium, 300 East Green Street, Pasadena

HOW: Pasadena 4 Halen, a group led by Pasadena residents, raised money to fund the plaque from donors and fans of the musician and band.

NOTE: The public is NOT invited due to COVID protocol. The family will not be present due to scheduling conflicts.
