PASADENA, Calif.—The City of Pasadena continues to enhance its ePermitting services. Community members can now save themselves a trip to the Permit Center and electronically submit applications and plans for the following types of projects:

  • Commercial and Residential – New Construction
  • Commercial Tenant Improvements
  • Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)

The Citizen Self-Service Portal allows you to make electronic payments, track progress via a customized dashboard, download comments and corrections, resubmit plans and schedule inspections.

The smartphone-friendly Express Permit Portal is also available. Customers can obtain residential HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing permits within minutes via an automated system. There are over 80 residential express permit types available. Since going live last May, over 1,400 Express Permits have been issued.

Continued ePermitting enhancements are underway. All building permits are scheduled to be available online by the end of 2022.
