DENA one-of-a-kind Juneteenth celebration will kick off with a performance from John Muir Magnet High School Mighty Mustang Band.
We are honored to have Congresswoman Judy Chu speak, followed by Deputy Dominick Correy to speak on Senator Anthony Portantino’s behalf.
The intentions of this event is to create movement towards equity, dignity, peace and healing in our neighborhoods.
This Community-Led celebration will be amazing! DENA Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom will be a jam-packed day of FUN! Enjoying cultural activities, live R&B / Hip-Hop artists, Gospel Singers and other energizing performances. Go all the way up with DJ Ace Hygh, live band, arts and crafts, yoga, motivational speakers, kids’ community fun center, bouncers, water games, food vendors, retail vendors, community resources, smiles, joy, and much more.
We will educate the community on the history of Juneteenth and its origins.
We are excited to celebrate Father’s Day at this event. We will honor fathers and men with the NUMBER ONE STUNNER CONTEST (Male Fashion Show)! We ask our men to come fly, “pop their collars” and be celebrated. Participants will receive gifts and prizes! It’s a DENA thang let’s Celebrate!
