Although so much of our focus has been on fighting COVID, we need to remember that Southern California is overdue for an earthquake.
During this annual earthquake drill, participants are asked to stop what they are doing and react as if an earthquake has occurred by dropping to the ground, taking cover under something sturdy, and holding on for one minute.
In addition to the safety drill, staff will participate in a variety of earthquake preparedness activities, including practicing the activation of the Floor Warden Program, rehearsing initial reporting and compiling of information on damage, injuries and department status and updating disaster kits, communications and reunification plans.
