Dear Friends and Neighbors,
While the Thanksgiving holiday has a complicated past, I encourage us to celebrate and cherish what brings us together in the present as we seek a more inclusive tomorrow.
It is that time of the year again when we gather around the table with our families and friends and pause to reflect on all that is good and wholesome in our lives. This year, in addition to family and friends, I am thankful for the privilege to serve our community. It is an honor to work with dedicated and supportive family members, constituents, colleagues, staff, interns, and volunteers.
This week’s Thanksgiving holiday offers a special opportunity to reflect on the blessings we have and to be grateful for the gifts we have received. I hope that we can be mindful and helpful to those less fortunate and struggling in our country and our world. Thanksgiving is an invitation to rededicate ourselves, in our own special way, to make a difference in the lives of members of our communities who face challenges.
May the gratitude and magic of this day serve to fill your hearts and lift your spirits. Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday!
Gratefully yours,
John J. Kennedy
