LEARN ABOUT HOUSING RIGHTS AND PROTECTIONS IN PASADENA WITH UPCOMING VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
Pasadena and Housing Rights Center (HRC) are teaming up to host a virtual workshop on Thursday, October 22, to discuss all relative information regarding housing rights, especially with COVID-19.
The workshop begins at 5 p.m. and will include topics such as new federal and state rent control laws, fair housing laws, and COVID-19 tenant protections, and landlord and tenant rights.
HRC, based in Los Angeles, is the nation’s largest non-profit civil rights organization dedicated to securing and promoting fair housing.
Founded in 1968, the same year that Congress passed the Fair Housing Act, HRC actively supports and promotes freedom of residence through education, advocacy, and litigation to ensure that all persons have the opportunity to secure the housing they desire and can afford, without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin or familial status.
HRC conducts services such as landlord-tenant counseling, outreach and education, and discrimination investigation, primarily serving Los Angeles County and Ventura County.
HRC has two offices in Pasadena that are temporarily closed in the interest of public safety, but currently provides services online or over the phone.
