Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Happy Mother's Day to moms everywhere! Let us reflect on the wise words of Cheryl Lacey Donovan, "Mother is a verb. It's something you do. Not just who you are."
While mothers frequently assume multiple roles, the overwhelming changes to life as we knew it triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic have given rise to unprecedented challenges. Acting as parent, professional, educator, counselor, playmate, chef, gym teacher and maybe more has put many a mom in an unparalleled emotional, psychic, mental and spiritual place.
This Mother's Day, let us make our family wellbeing a priority and continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines. We can safely express our love and appreciation for those we value most through a variety of virtual gatherings, social media and video messaging platforms.
I want to take this opportunity to wish all mothers a happy and healthy Mother's Day. We honor you for all the hard work, dedication and sacrifices you make for your children and our community.
