Pasadena Police Department Addresses Challenges of COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
The Pasadena Police Department and Police Chief John Perez would like to assure the Public that policing services are continuing and frontline officers are doing an incredible job in providing assistance, responding to 9-1-1 emergencies, and handling the volume of calls for service while adapting to the challenges caused by the COVID-19 virus. It is important that your Police Department update community members about a few temporary operational changes to reduce the potential for exposure.
We have outfitted all police officers with needed equipment and have provided response protocols to assist Officers in handling calls for service or encountering individuals who may be infected with COVID-19. We are regularly monitoring grocery stores and other vital points where resources are obtained. Officers will investigate and enforce any violation of the law in regards to price-gouging. Additional adjustments will occur at our front lobby and we are developing appropriate in-take questions by our emergency dispatchers.
Public Health professionals are at the lead in COVID-19 efforts and the Pasadena Police is partnering with the Pasadena Fire Department to ensure the highest level of service during this critical time. We are extremely grateful for the efforts of our extraordinary health care professionals and the Pasadena Health Department. Please continue to stay aware of updates from the City of Pasadena and we request the community to follow the Health Department’s precautionary measures to reduce potential exposures. We need the public’s support and we ask everyone to support one another through this critical period.
