SGV SCHOLARSHIP 2020_APPLICATIONS
Several scholarship awards are offered by the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of NOBLE
each year. The following awards are available for 2020.
SGV NOBLE Community Service Scholarship - $1,000.00
Georgia Holloway Community Service Scholarship - $750.00
Gerald Freeny Excellence in Service Scholarship - $750.00
Officer Ralph Riddle Family Scholarship - $1,000.00
Rodney D & Donnetha Wallace Family Legacy Scholarship - $1,000.00
Sharing Initiative Scholarship - $1,000.00
Each scholarship is a one-time award offered to a graduating senior residing and/or
attending high school within the boundaries of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of
NOBLE. The person selected for this award should have demonstrated academic
achievement, leadership and exceptional service to the community.
The attached application must be received by 5 PM, Friday, April 10, 2020
(postmarked no later than April 6, 2020)

SGV NOBLE Scholarship Award Guidelines
The recipients of scholarships provided through SGV NOBLE will be recognized
during the Annual Scholarship Breakfast held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at NOOR in
Paseo Colorado, Pasadena, CA.

ELIGIBILITY:
Students must;
• Be a high school senior receiving a diploma at the culmination of the 2019/20
academic school year.
• Possess a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher.
• Reside and/or attend high school within the boundaries of the San Gabriel Valley
Chapter which encompasses the City of Burbank east to the Inland Empire.
• Be accepted to an accredited college or university and committed to attend during
the 2020/21 academic year.
• Complete and submit the following by Friday, April 10, 2020
o An Application Form
o A 450-word essay authored by the applicant related to the requested
scholarship.
o Unofficial School Transcripts
o Proof of acceptance to accredited college or university
o Two Letters of Recommendation (school and community organization)
NOTIFICATION OF APPLICANTS
All recipients will be notified by email in April.
AWARD PAYMENT
Confirmation of school registration is required prior to disbursement of scholarship
award. Award disbursements will commence July 27, 2020 as follows;
• Checks will be made payable to the recipient.
• Checks will be mailed to the recipient’s home address.

You may also write to the SGV NOBLE Chapter and request an application for the
Scholarships.
A national screening panel will review all applicants for the scholarships and select the
recipients.
The application must be postmarked no later than Monday, April 6, 2020.
All applicants will be notified after the selections are made.
The SGV NOBLE scholarship recipients are recognized during Annual SGV NOBLE
Scholarship Breakfast being held on May 9, 2020.
