César Chávez
Day of Service
March 31, 2021
On this beautiful afternoon, we proudly commemorate César Chávez Day! Today we honor an inspirational activist and resolute advocate for workers’ rights.
In 2000, California was the first state to sign César Chávez Day into law, adding yet another contribution to the venerable social justice cause — César Chávez became the first Latino and first labor leader to be recognized with a holiday.
Let us take a moment to reflect on the meaning of his words, and may they inspire you to action: “Talk is cheap ... . It is the way we organize and use our lives every day that tells what we believe in.”
¡Sí Se Puede!
