Event Cancellations (COVID-19)

The City of Pasadena has canceled all “non-essential” City-sponsored events and activities until further notice. “Non-essential” events and activities would generally include recreational events and classes, educational and cultural events, census events, Community Police Academy Kids Safety Academy, Police Activities League (PAL) center activity, and community excursions. The City is not presently directing the cancellation of any events or activities sponsored by third-party organizations, although the City is reaching out to the coordinators and providing current guidelines by the California Department of Public Health regarding mass gatherings.

Because of inquiries that have been made, it should be noted that the Pasadena Senior Center is an independent, third-party organization, not operated by the City of Pasadena, and it will be considering its course of action with respect to its own events; the City will assist the Senior Center in every way possible in its decision-making and announcement process.

Below is the list of “non-essential” City-sponsored events that have been canceled as of March 12, 2020. Cancellations will continue indefinitely as a precautionary strategy to prevent community transmission of COVID-19, and until the situation changes. The decision of when to reschedule any event has not yet been made.
