

Jackie Robinson's 104th Birthday Celebration
The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department invites the community to celebrate the 104th birthday of famed baseball player and civil rights activist Jackie Robinson on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., at Jackie Robinson Community Center (JRCC), 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
The birthday celebration will include self-guided tours of Jackie Robinson memorabilia at JRCC. This exhibit is on loan from Pasadena’s Baseball Reliquary and features a Grays jersey, Negro League baseball items, historical photos, and a model of Ebbets Field. The event will also include a free showing of the movie “42” and a biographical documentary on Jackie Robinson. Birthday cake will be served beginning at 1 p.m.
Community members are encouraged to join City employees in wearing a Jackie Robinson baseball jersey or shirt or simply the number 42, Robinson’s jersey number.
