Women Win the Vote Celebration

January 11 @ 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm

flyer with date, time and location of event

Join us in kicking off the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, giving most women the right to vote in 1920.  Get in the spirit and wear a costume, sash, fascinator or hat from the period as we socialize and recap the history and players in this very important moment in history.Discover the early suffrage campaign that won California women the right to vote nine years before the Federal Amendment, and learn more about the national suffrage campaign and the background behind Ellen Snortland's wonderful display of suffragist memorabilia.  Special guest:  Gita Morena, great-great granddaughter of suffragette and feminist activist Matilda Joslyn Gage.  Photo ops and refreshments provided.
