The Euclid Villa recently underwent renovations to reduce the carbon footprint of the 14 unit of transitional housing. The green rehab included site improvements, the installation of a solar photovoltaic system, lighting upgrades, and replacement of the HVAC systems. The facility is owned and operated by Union Station Homeless Services.

Herkimer Gardens is a four-unit development that is located in the Villa-Parke redevelopment area. The developments’ four- and five-bedroom units help to house the usually hard to accommodate larger families. The development involves the preservation of historic buildings and consists of 3 buildings: the Herkimer Apartments, the Victorian style Hammond House, and a separate mixed use building. The developer was Heritage Housing Partners.
“Together Everything Is Possible”
A vacant lot at Washington and Marengo was transformed into a location for the City’s Rotating Public Art Exhibition Program and a new rain garden. The project was a collaboration among the Cultural Affairs Division of the Planning & Community Development Department, Northwest Programs Office and the departments of Public Works and Water and Power. The Housing Department’s MASH workers prepared the site for community volunteers to install drought tolerant plants. Through a series of workshops, the artist, LT Mustardseed, worked with the Armory Center for the Arts and Northwest Pasadena youth to create a sculpture emblematic of community pride entitled “Together Everything is Possible.”
