Fair Oaks Court
The Fair Oaks Court was developed on a 1.76-acre site that had integrated both rehabilitated historic homes and new construction. The development consists of 44 total units that include one-bedroom to four-bedroom units. The project provides a range of housing opportunities to accommodate the diverse needs of Pasadena’s residents. The developer was Heritage Housing Partners.
Washington Park Classics
Washington Park Classics is a housing development project that offers eight town home units, primarily for first time homebuyers, and is located on the northeast corner of Washington Boulevard and El Molino Avenue in Pasadena. These craftsman inspired town homes are bringing a positive change to the community by providing quality, affordable housing for its residents. The developer was Trademark Development Company.
Euclid Villa
The Euclid Villa recently underwent renovations to reduce the carbon footprint of the 14 unit of transitional housing. The green rehab included site improvements, the installation of a solar photovoltaic system, lighting upgrades, and replacement of the HVAC systems. The facility is owned and operated by Union Station Homeless Services.
Orange Grove Gardens
Orange Grove Gardens is a 38-unit development located on East Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena. The development focused on the issues of sustainability, livability, and green living. The site holds such features as public courtyards, an expansive tree canopy, and private green spaces for tenants. These amenities help achieve the objective of the project while highlighting the garden heritage of Pasadena. The developer was Abode Communities.
Hudson Oaks
Hudson Oaks is a 45-unit senior independent living development in the Washington Park neighborhood of Pasadena. The development is a demonstration of high quality affordable housing that not only provides housing but also the revitalization of neighborhoods and the creation of jobs. The developer was Abode Communities.
Herkimer Gardens
Herkimer Gardens is a four-unit development that is located in the Villa-Parke redevelopment area. The developments’ four- and five-bedroom units help to house the usually hard to accommodate larger families. The development involves the preservation of historic buildings and consists of 3 buildings: the Herkimer Apartments, the Victorian style Hammond House, and a separate mixed use building. The developer was Heritage Housing Partners.
Rain Garden
“Together Everything Is Possible”
A vacant lot at Washington and Marengo was transformed into a location for the City’s Rotating Public Art Exhibition Program and a new rain garden. The project was a collaboration among the Cultural Affairs Division of the Planning & Community Development Department, Northwest Programs Office and the departments of Public Works and Water and Power. The Housing Department’s MASH workers prepared the site for community volunteers to install drought tolerant plants. Through a series of workshops, the artist, LT Mustardseed, worked with the Armory Center for the Arts and Northwest Pasadena youth to create a sculpture emblematic of community pride entitled “Together Everything is Possible.”
