PASADENA, Calif. — Pasadena Public Library will reopen four library branches for in-person service and expand the hours of its Hastings and La Pintoresca branches the week of May 10.
Linda Vista and San Rafael branch libraries will reopen on Tuesday, May 11. Lamanda Park and Santa Catalina branches will reopen on Wednesday, May 12. Hastings and La Pintoresca branches will expand their hours of service to the public beginning May 11. Allendale and Hill Avenue branch libraries will expand their curbside pickup service hours for library holds beginning May 10.
With Pasadena entering the yellow tier of the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, libraries have been cleared to safely reopen at a reduced capacity, while requiring face coverings and maintaining six feet physical distance for customers. In preparation for reopening its doors to the public, Pasadena Public Library is working diligently to ensure all protocols for public health and safety, cleanliness and physical distancing are in place.
Here are the public health safety guidelines you can expect when you plan your visit to any of the Pasadena Public Libraries:
- Wear a face covering over your nose and mouth at all times
- Maintain a distance of at least six (6) feet from other library patrons or staff at all times
- Avoid entering the library if you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms or feeling sick
For anyone who is unable to meet the above requirements, library staff will make every attempt to assist patron’s needs online, via phone, etc.
Patrons will be able to browse the collections check out materials, reserve and use public computers, and access Wi-Fi as well as printing and copying services. A limited number of patrons will be allowed in the libraries at any one time. There is no seating available except for ADA seating and computer use. Patrons two years and older are required to wear a mask over their mouth and nose at all times while visiting the library and observe six feet physical distancing.
