Pasadena Public Library Offers New Library Catalog System

On Nov. 19, Pasadena Public Library will launch a new Integrated Library System (ILS), SirsiDynix’s BlueCloud ILS System with its Enterprise library catalog to manage its bibliographic/item holdings, patron registration, patron account activity, and online resources. This new system provides a better way for Library users to find books, movies, music, and special items at the Pasadena Public Library.

The Enterprise library catalog will have a new look and more robust offerings. Bestseller lists and new books feature prominently on the front page. Delve inside and you’ll find more information about books, movies, and music such as summaries, ‘read-alikes’ and reviews.

Enterprise makes it easier to find what you need including teen and children’s titles. New catalog pages for both teens and kids to search will be introduced soon. Other new improvements like the new mobile app and better searching capability for research resources are to come.

Library services and information such as check-outs, holds, and requests, will move into the new catalog environment on Nov. 19. Library patrons that currently use “My List” features may want to copy and save their personal lists and reading history as these will not transfer over to the new catalog system. For instructions on how to do so check with library staff by calling (626) 744-4066 x7 or visit the library website,

Prior to launching our Enterprise catalog, the library will be in “check-out only” mode from Nov. 16 through Nov. 18. Patrons will be able to log into their accounts and view them only. Curbside service will continue as scheduled but be limited to materials patrons are notified that are on hold and ready to pick up. During this time, the following resources and services will still be accessible:
• eBooks and all eMaterials from OverDrive/Libby, CloudLibrary, and hoopla.
• eResources including Flipster, ReferenceUSA, Ancestry Library Edition, etc. accessible remotely using a Pasadena Public Library card.

The following resources and services will temporarily be inaccessible:
• Material renewals on items currently have checked out.
• Hold placements/requests.
• New Library card accounts/eCard registration or activation.
• Any account updates; such as change of address, phone number, email or library card.
