Whereas the City of Pasadena celebrates the role that the arts and creativity play in helping us navigate the pandemic, amplify the need for racial equity, and highlight the power of the arts to change our lives for the better; and
Whereas the California Association of Museums works to support the arts and creativity in Pasadena as an essential part of our thriving community; and
Whereas this is the 5th annual Arts, Culture and Creativity Month in California—a statewide awareness and advocacy event that recognizes the important role of arts, culture, and creativity in the lives of everyone in our state; and
Whereas the City recognizes that the arts and creativity support student success and life-long learning, provide key job skills, and bring joy to our community while strengthening our connections; and
Whereas the City values the California Association of Museums as a state-level organization to promote unified support for the arts; and
Now, Therefore I, Victor M. Gordo, Mayor of the City of Pasadena, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim the month of April, 2023 in Pasadena as Arts, Culture and Creativity Month and encourage all residents to celebrate the power of the arts in our community.
