PROCLAMATION:
Whereas, First Tee - Greater Pasadena enhances the lives of young people through the game of golf by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and high personal values; and
Whereas, First Tee, which is recognized as one of the premier youth character education programs in the country, promotes the nine core values of life enhancement: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment; and
Whereas, First Tee - Greater Pasadena strengthens the community and its image by increasing cultural unity through promoting health and wellness, and strengthening safety and security by reducing juvenile crime; and
Whereas, October, 2026 marks the 20th year where over 265,000 youth and families have benefited from the wide range of services, facilities and programs provided by First Tee - Greater Pasadena since their inception;
Now, Therefore I, Victor M. Gordo, Mayor of the City of Pasadena, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim the month of October, 2026 in Pasadena as First Tee-Greater Pasadena Month.
