PROCLAMATION:
Whereas it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to the Constitution of the United States of America, and to celebrate the 236th anniversary of its drafting on September 17, 2023; and
Whereas the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Martin Severance Chapter, enriches communities by protecting and preserving historic locations, fostering patriotism and love of country, supporting charitable endeavors and schools, assisting veterans and the infirm, and encouraging historical research; and
Whereas during the month of September, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Martin Severance Chapter will celebrate the Constitution and the 232nd anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights;
Now, Therefore I, Victor M. Gordo, Mayor of the City of Pasadena, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim the week of September 17-23, 2023 in the City of Pasadena as Constitution Week.
