PROCLAMATION:
Whereas First Tee - Greater Pasadena enhances the lives of young people through the game of golf by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and high personal values; and
Whereas First Tee, which is recognized as one of the premier youth character education programs in the country, promotes the nine core values of life enhancement: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment; and
Whereas First Tee - Greater Pasadena strengthens the community and its image by increasing cultural unity, equity, diversity and inclusion through promoting health and wellness, and strengthening safety, life skills and security by reducing juvenile crime; and
Whereas October, 2022 marks the 16th year where over 215,000 youth and families have benefited from the wide range of services, facilities and programs provided by First Tee - Greater Pasadena since their inception;
Now, Therefore I, Victor M. Gordo, Mayor of the City of Pasadena, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim the month of October, 2022 in Pasadena as First Tee - Greater Pasadena Month.
