About Us

The function of the Northwest Programs Office is to serve as a liaison between the community and the City Managers Office to identify and address the needs of Northwest Pasadena, and maintain a healthy business environment in the northwest area of Pasadena and to facilitate development projects through the entitlement process in coordination with other departments.

We recognize that a healthy residential and business sector provides the resources necessary to sustain jobs and services for our citizens. Business attraction, retention and expansion of programs are successfully being implemented to improve the City’s revenue base, create jobs for residents, and provide for the overall well being of the northwest business community.

City staff and the Northwest Programs Office work in conjunction with the Northwest Commission, and local officials to establish and maintain relations with business leaders through a variety of community plans to preserve and expand existing retail / commercial centers serving local and neighborhood needs.

Additionally, the Northwest Programs Office plans and coordinates special activity programs that embrace the diversity of the Northwest community, such as “Lunch with the Future” at John Muir High School, Youth Ambassador Program, and other activities of great interest to area residents.
