Latino Heritage Month Virtual Events and Drive-in Movie

The Latino Heritage Committee, in collaboration with the City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department, will celebrate Latino Heritage Month with a series of culturally rich virtual events. Turf Renovation and Enhancement

The Department has temporarily closed athletic fields at six parks for turf renovation and enhancements. The closures will allow crews to conduct much needed maintenance including aerating, fertilizing, over-seeding, irrigation testing and repairs, and removal of in-field lip build up (on baseball/softball diamonds). The turf also needs to rest. Temporary fencing has or will be installed to protect renovated areas as the seed needs an opportunity to establish sufficient roots and grow in preparation for future sports seasons. The Human Services and Recreation Department and volunteer Black History Parade and Festival Planning Committee are honored to host the 38th Annual Pasadena Black History Parade and Festival on Saturday, February 15, 2020.  A full schedule of events celebrates the achievements of and recognizes African-Americans in U. S. History. Pasadena is proud to host one of the largest Black History parades in Southern California. After School Adventures Program Registration Now Open! Accepting applications for scholarship waitlist.

The Early Care and After School Adventures Program provides affordable, flexible and convenient before and after school childcare at 12 PUSD school sites. Registration is now open. Program activities include homework help, fitness, sports and fun, age-appropriate enrichment activities like science projects and cooking. Early registration encouraged as some sites sell out. Scholarship funding has been exhausted, but applications are being accepted for the scholarship waitlist in case additional funds become available.
